Summer 2017.
“No way!!! That cannot be!!!”
During the summer of 2017, I was looking for something to watch and this documentary popped up...Nah, it did not. I literally looked for it by typing “K-Pop documentary” and then it showed up.
After watching it, I was not feeling too comfortable. A few things said during the interview were bothering me.
“An icon that supersedes cultural differences will arise. This process has already started. [...] In 5 years...or within five years from 2012? A pop icon will rise out of Asia to ultimate superstardom in the united state and the rest of the world” by Siwon Choi (A member of the group Super Junior)
I started pondering...
“Within five years from 2012”...
So, if it was from 2012 and you add five year, something big was supposed to happen between 2012-2017.
In 2012, PSY had gained international recognition with his worldwide hit Gangnam Style but the hype had reduced since. So, it was not entirely him.
“2017.Asia. Worldwide. Is there any icon from Asia who...noooooooo”
Kitania: “Wikipedia!! Summon the BTS K-Pop article!”
Wikipedia: “BTS’s first members were recruited through Big Hit’s “Hit It” auditions in 2010 and 2011. The original line up went trough several changes before the final group of members was established in 2012”
Kitania: “Google!! Summon anything related to BTS in 2017!”
Google: Billboard Music Award, Top social Artist, nomination and win.
Kitania: “No way!!! That cannot be!!!”
Google: BTS performing at the American Music Awards.
Kitania: That’s enough Google, I ge-...
Google: Some of their songs are linked to these events.

Windows: Update required. Do not turn the device off.
Kitania: *proceeds to walk away and lie down in foetal position*
That was too much to take in.
It was only the beginning.
In Chapter one, I have recommended some documentaries to watch if wishing to know a bit more about Kpop.
One of them called: Finding Hallywood: Inside The Pressure Cooker That's The Korean Wave // Discovery on Viddsee (here), served as a foundation for my video titled: K-POP: SUCCESS PREDICTED.
