For an accurate and elegant description of Hallyu (aka The Korean Wave), Wikipedia has done a great job.

There are also several YouTube videos on the subject like these ones:

In a nutshell, here’s a my heavily distorted breakdown of what KPOP has become under the hands of greed:

  • Select a random song on the Billboard chart.

  • Ctrl-c, Ctrl-v

  • Reverse the dialog of the copied version.

  • Combine the original and reverse versions.

  • Translate 93.8 percent into Korean language.

  • Speed up the song (x1.25)

  • Increase track volume (as you wish)

The two options available for this next step are:

  • The Easy Option: Hire a production and creative team for the music video (MV) (do not forget to discredit and to underpay them). Note: Recruit a few people that are anything but Korean. The “Foreigner-Friendly” slogan is a "GrEAt" marketing strategy.

  • The Broke Option: Ask ChatGPT to make a music video for you.

This next part is the most crucial of all as it targets the subconscious mind:

  • Throughout the music video, flash the following sentences at an interval of five seconds:

“Our fans are the driving force behind everything we do and are.”

“We cannot live without them. The love and money we receive from our fans is life itself.”

“The more we love ourselves the more our fans love us back.”

“Anything or anyone that comes in between our love for our fans (and their money) is an enemy to be exterminated”.

The opacity of the characters should be maximum 5 percent (the word money would be 1 percent)

  • Add on (optional-compulsory): promote extreme weight loss and shame weight gain, encourage lust and drugs among minors, overwork yourself to burn-out (the more tired and depressed you look, the more appealing, and many more.

  • Speed up the final product by 0.01.

  • You’re done.

  • Congrats.

How heavily distorted must your interest in K-pop be, to give a breakdown like the one above...

Actually, it was not always the case.

My discomfort only started to grow bigger and bigger when noticing some similarities between K-Pop and the western music industry.

To make things easier to explain, I will break down how I got introduced into K-Pop using some of the videos posted on my YouTube Channel.
