About ¦ Kitania Rose (Part 1)

One day, sitting in front of the computer in the living room, I was faced with a dilemma:

“What is the name of your character?”

I was just starting an MMORPG game and needed to choose a name for my character. It may not seem like a big deal but knowing that unless you delete your character, there is no way of changing it afterwards, I took it as a big deal.

So, what did I do?

I called my siblings who were watching TV a few metres away from me:

“Hey siblings, come over here please. I need some help”.

Just a little bit taller than a meter at the time, they walked towards me and stopped in front of the table that was between us. On the table were some carefully selected video games from our GameCube console (I did say I was a millennium lol). I then gave them this mission:

“I need a name for my character. Could you make a name using some of these video games as an inspiration?”

I am now surprised they went along with it...I was either crazy or desperate. Anyways, the names they came up with were defying creativity so much I decided to take matters into my own hands which resulted in receiving a few slippers in my face for wasting their time.

Here’s the formula I used:

Mario Kart Double Dash+ Sonic Adventure 2 Battle + Kirikou+ some medications or vitamins+ divine intervention =

Kitania

I should have taken the medications lol.

Many years later, I am now surprised to learn that the name indeed exists and means “long-awaited”, "kitten" (lol), and “fairy queen” in Australia...

I wonder how they came up with that name...

I do hope it does not mean anything bad in other languages...That would be troublesome.
